Crypto-Roots-MX is a cultural and genealogical initiative dedicated to uncovering and preserving the stories of Mexico’s hidden Sephardic Jewish heritage. Through archival research, family histories, and community collaboration, we trace the roots of crypto-Jewish families who shaped the spiritual and cultural fabric of New Spain. Your support helps us document ancestral lineages, share educational resources, and reconnect descendants with their Sephardic identity—illuminating a legacy once kept in the shadows

Led by Yaide García, a descendant of New Spain’s Sephardic settler families — among them the Garza, Treviño, Figueroa, Velasco, Ávila, Escobedo, Cadena, Maluena, Carbajal, Pacho, Oñate, Saavedra, Bocanegra, Zúñiga, Flores, De la Torre, Estrada, Salazar, Alarcón, Caraisco, and Caballería families.
